Is divorce ever acceptable for Christians, or have we just normalized breaking a covenant God calls permanent?
Jesus said some hard things about divorce — but Paul added exceptions, the church has debated this for centuries, and American Christians divorce at roughly the same rate as everyone else. Some say Scripture permits divorce only in the narrowest cases; others say a God of love would never trap someone in an abusive or dead marriage.
