Is baptism required for salvation — or are we adding to the gospel every time we say you have to get wet to be saved?
Churches split over this constantly, but nobody wants to say it plainly: either baptism is part of what saves you, or it isn't. If it is, then the thief on the cross went to hell. If it isn't, what was Jesus doing when He commanded it? Pick a side and defend it — because 'it's complicated' isn't an answer.
