Does God actually require 10% of your income — or did the church invent a financial system and put God's name on it?
Tithing is preached from almost every pulpit in America as a divine command, complete with warnings about 'robbing God' from Malachi. But the Mosaic tithe was grain and cattle, not money — and it went to Levites, not a building fund. Did Jesus ever ask for 10%? Did Paul? Or have we taken an Old Testament agricultural tax, spiritualized it, and turned it into the church's revenue model? Pick a side.
