Did Jesus actually mean 'turn the other cheek' in every situation — or have pacifist Christians been using the Sermon on the Mount to dress up moral cowardice as faithfulness?
Romans 13 says the government bears the sword as God's servant. Jesus tells us to turn the other cheek. Soldiers in the New Testament are never told to quit. So which is it — is Christian pacifism the purest obedience to Christ, or is it a luxury theology that only works if someone else is willing to do the violence you won't? Pick a side. Defend it.
