Is Christian pacifism the only faithful option, or have we turned 'turn the other cheek' into a mandate Jesus never intended?
Jesus said 'turn the other cheek' and 'love your enemies.' But He also fashioned a whip and drove out the money changers, and He told His disciples to sell their cloaks and buy swords. So which is it — is a Christian who picks up a weapon to defend the innocent sinning, or is Christian pacifism a privileged, naive reading that only works when someone else is doing the fighting? Pick a side and defend it.
